“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” John F. Kennedy
Last week was my husband’s birthday.
As I celebrated the day he was born, I realized that Jim is one of the most appreciative people I know.
He notices the simple things and delights in what often goes unnoticed.
Acknowledgment and appreciation has the power to transform your environment if you walk your talk.
For those of you who have heard my entire story, you know that I changed my life because I changed my language.
I moved from “Negative Nelly” to “Mary F’in Sunshine” — in the words of one of my co-workers in law enforcement.
Appreciation fully transforms where you are and enables you to see life from what you have (abundance) vs. what you don’t have (scarcity).
It eliminates fear and allows the miracle of each day to be viewed with lenses that see only unlimited possibilities and unlimited potential.
The three phrases I use often:
This transformative power is yours if you want it and starts by telling the people around you that you are thankful for what they bring to your life (and/or your career ~ business).
Thank you.
I am grateful for you.
I appreciate you.
It’s that simple.
And, this simple tool will increase your visibility and enable you to be seen and heard for who you are – a person who values and appreciates the people around you.
p.s. Did you see my big announcement on Friday?!? If not, keep your eyes peeled for more details this week about my new Leadership Intensive! This two-day live event on August 2 – 3rd to be held in Miami is an intimate retreat that you won’t want to miss!
