Whenever I have a speaking engagement our of town, I try to work in a bit of downtime.
If I have friends in the area (which is likely), I reach out ahead of time to catch up.
When I’m near the Philadelphia area, the first person I contact is my sister, Pamela.
On a recent trip where I got to meet up with my sister, she challenged me with something that had been on my mind but I hadn’t articulated.
Lately I’ve been thinking about what I want next for my life.
She asked me about projects I was working on and what 2015 and beyond held for Upside Thinking, Inc. and me.
Truthfully, I was struggling – and she knew it.
Things are good. Really good. And, comfortable.
Being comfortable doesn’t allow for growth and development.
But, when you are made to be uncomfortable, that doesn’t always feel good, either.
My sister challenged me to surrender and pray. And, I am working on that.
But, I had to go back and ask myself what is nagging at me.
Several months ago, my sister sent me the story of Dylan Siegel.
Dylan’s best friend has a rare liver disease so he wrote The Chocolate Bar Book which has raised $1,000,000 (yes, that’s 6 zeroes!) for research into Jonah’s disease. Every penny has gone to the lab where researchers are close to reaching a cure. You can find out more here: www.chocolatebarbook.com
I know I have a big calling. And, I have touched, inspired, and influenced thousands of lives. But, what else am I called to do? Stay tuned……working on something BIG….
You have a big calling.
And, there are things that only you can do because of your unique set of talents and gifts.
How are you using those gifts today?
ACTION ITEM: The Upside Challenge this week is to examine your level of comfort in your life right now on a scale of 1 – 5, 1 being very uncomfortable and 5 being super comfortable. What will you do to make yourself a little more comfortable if you’re not a “1”?
Life is change. Growth is optional. Choose wisely. Lead Upside
Keep riding the Upside. It’s all Upside.
