Over the past few years, I've faced a series of hardships that have tested my resilience—tornadoes, floods, injury, fraud, chimney collapse, no heat/hot water, loss, and betrayal.
These events have hit me hard, - and because I'm resilient by nature and trust in God's grace and favor, I have managed to withstand these big blows.
Earlier this year, however, my spiritual mentor remarked, "You really are in a season, one of being under attack, and I've never seen anything last this long."
Initially, I brushed off her comment, trying to focus on moving forward.
Yet her words resurfaced during a conversation with a colleague from a 'Memos from the Head Office' conversation who said, "You were built for firefights, Lisa Marie."
While I didn't love her message, deep down I knew she was right.
Throughout my life, I've been a warrior, overcoming one hard thing after another, and standing firm for the Light.
Overall, I'm good with it.
Yet sometimes, the weight of standing in the fire becomes overwhelming.
Despite my efforts to leave my burdens at the foot of the cross, there are moments when I feel overwhelmed.
This week, in a moment of vulnerability, I asked God for a sign that I'm on the right path and that my work matters.
The response I received was nothing short of miraculous.
First, I found a dollar bill.
If you know where I live, you'll understand how incredibly random and unexpected this was. The bill bore the inscription, "In God We Trust."
This small yet significant find felt like a direct message from above, reassuring me that I am not alone and that I am supported. He chose to send a dollar, when He could have sent a penny, symbolizing material abundance and divine provision.
Later that same day, a double rainbow appeared over our event center. In the Bible, the rainbow is a sign of God's promise and His favor.
Seeing two rainbows was a powerful affirmation that I am on the right path. Times two.
Just wow.
Message received loud and clear.
These signs have reinvigorated my spirit and renewed my determination to stay the course. They reminded me that even in our darkest moments, we are not alone. We are guided, supported, and loved.
Here are a few practical insights I've gained from this experience that I hope you find helpful:
1. Seek Signs of Encouragement: In times of doubt, ask for signs of encouragement. Whether through prayer, meditation, or quiet reflection, open yourself to receiving guidance from the universe or your higher power.
2. Trust in Divine Timing: Sometimes, the answers we seek don't come immediately. Trust that everything happens in divine timing, and stay patient and open to receiving.
3. Celebrate Small Victories: Finding that dollar bill and seeing the double rainbow were small yet significant victories for me. Celebrate the small wins in your life as they often carry profound messages.
4. Lean on Your Community: Share your struggles and victories with your community. We are all in this together, and supporting each other through tough times can make a world of difference.
5. Stay the Course: No matter how tough things get, remember that you are built for these challenges. Stay strong, keep moving forward, and continue to shine your light.
I encourage you to keep shining your light despite the hardships.
The world needs you and your unique brilliance.
ACTION: The Upside Challenge for this week is to create a victory log to cultivate a habit of recognizing and celebrating small victories in your daily life.
At the end of each day, take a few moments to reflect on your day and identify at least one small victory. These victories can be anything that brought you joy, made you feel accomplished, or represented progress in any area of your life.
Then, at the end of the week, set aside some time to review your Victory Log. Read through each entry and reflect on the progress you’ve made and the positive moments you’ve experienced.
