I’ve been afraid of not "getting it right" for a lot of my life.
I’ve talked to myself using cruel and crushing words; words that I would never even think of saying to anyone else.
I’ve looked in the mirror and seen a reflection of someone who wasn't good enough to have good things.
So I would hide behind false bravado, pretending I felt worthy.
I sized up my wins with an imaginary measuring stick I also used to beat myself up with.
~ We all make mistakes.
~ We all get stuff wrong or feel like we can't get it right.
~ We all say stupid stuff in our lives.
Through the years, I've learned getting HONEST with yourself and being VULNERABLE is where real CHANGE begins...
...because it leads to forgiveness. Including forgiveness of self. Forgiving mistakes and misunderstandings. Forgiving your perceived failures and forgiving perfectionism so you can be released from it.
Forgiveness is freeing.
It's the only thing that changes the past, present and future simultaneously in an instant.
It's been a LONG TIME since I've been that girl looking in the mirror feeling so much less than enough, and yesterday I realized parts of her still CREEP IN. Moments of doubt and self-cruelty.
NO MORE.
I broke this board with my own hand before -- and saw what was on the other side. I understand that when I choose to let this go, it will be for good. For good because I intend for it to be permanent, and for good because it will be good for me and for good in the world.
BIG THINGS are on the horizon.
I'm ALL IN on MAKING a BIGGER POSITIVE DIFFERENCE on the planet.
And I'm more committed now than ever to living out my divine purpose.
