The butterfly is only beautiful because the caterpillar is brave
I’ve been feeling a lot this week.
~ Heartache and loss in my life.
~ Listening to friends share the pain they are experiencing.
~ Client conversations filled with grief.
When I start to feel overwhelmed, I remember I am here for a purpose and reason at this time of evolution on the planet.
This understanding allows me to soften and surrender vs. control or cling to "should's."
- How I “should” feel.
- What I "should" be doing.
- How others "should" behave.
Breathing into Divine Right Timing takes me out of striving energy and into the flow of life.
It also removes the unreasonable expectations I can at times place on others.
And myself.
When I'm in this place, my focus is turned inwards and I accept who I am and where I am without judgment.
I pause and ask myself how I can show up differently and how I can be a greater force for good on the planet and do it without engaging in knee-jerk energetic reactions.
It's not claiming energy or surrender energy.
It's resting in the arms of the Divine.
Doing this is an act of COURAGE.
As someone who likes to have a plan and clear direction I'm learning how much being in the "here and now" really matters.
The butterfly is beautiful because the caterpillar is brave.
The caterpillar has no concept of what is to come.
It does its work. It lives the stages of its transformation without guarantees.
It goes through "messy" phases...it goes through what appears to be dormancy, hanging in external stillness while tremendous metamorphosis occurs internally...
...and we would never judge it as wrong or insist that it "should be different."
We accept it for what it is... an amazing creature on the planet.
As we all are.
Capable of the miraculous.
Despite uncertainty.
Despite challenging conditions and situations.
Despite fears and doubts.
Yes. Allowing "what is," allows the emotional and spiritual space for what is to come.
It starts with love. And requires love at each step.
ACTION: The Upside Challenge for the week is to get into a state of true loving acceptance of how things are, who you are, and how you feel.
Can you be brave in the face of uncertainty?
Can you relax into this moment and its perfection?
Because the world needs you and your brilliance.
