Being in the entrepreneurial world for almost 18 years, I’ve made many mistakes, and learned a few things along the way.
I used to believe the things I got wrong in business were unique to owning a business.
Now I understand they’re linked to life in general and relevant to being SUCCESS-MINDED.
This is why the same things showed up when I worked in Federal law enforcement and banking.
The 3 MISTAKES that most entrepreneurs have made are the same things that show up and impede your ability to succeed.
1. ~ The DESIRE to SERVE EVERYONE.
While it sounds like a good thing, when you’re not clear about whom you are uniquely called to serve... you end up sharing your gifts, talents, and abilities with people who take you off-course.
And if you’re not careful, failure to take purposeful action over time can turn into prostitution, as you begin to sell your services to the highest bidder vs. those that will allow you to make the biggest difference on the planet.
2 ~ LACK of CLARITY about WHO YOU ARE – your MISSION, PURPOSE, and CALLING.
In business, this means that your ideal client or right opportunity can't find you. They can't recognize you when you aren't broadcasting a clear signal of "you."
In life, this means you become frustrated with trying to figure out why you aren't where you want to be.
When you stay in this loop of upset and aggravation, you actually are living with your head buried in the sand blaming external circumstances.
it will feel as if your life force is being drained.
And it is.
3 ~ NOT SETTING a STANDARD for your VALUE and WORTH.
Value and worth are tied to how much something costs in business.
Yet in life every action has a cost. You pay in energy, time, resources, etc.
When you aren’t clear what your value and worth is you may end up shortchanging yourself.
So, in avoiding the 3 biggest mistakes, the best leaders use them as 3 keys to success. The best leaders are clear on ~
1) Who they are called to serve (instead of trying to serve everyone).
2) Who they are and their mission, purpose, and calling.
3) What they’re worth.
They also understand WHAT they WANT and WHY it MATTERS.
Do you?
