Making a Choice - and a Commitment
The extra mile is never crowded.
Most people struggle with just getting started.
I understand.
Creating new habits has often been challenging for me.
For example, taking action to change my physical well-being… was often derailed in the evening when my husband asked me if I wanted a snack and my belly yelled YES! Or, I'd get off track when I was out with friends having a good time.
I would rationalize that I deserved to treat myself after a long day, and that I would get it dialed in “tomorrow.”
Only, it was a series of tomorrows that never came, and the excuses piled up.
Action produces results. And, it takes consistent action.
And, what I’ve learned time and time again is that it doesn’t even have to be perfect. You can have an occasionally, "whoops," however, the steps are clear and need to be taken, each and every time... It will help you to keep in mind the commitment to your goal (and yourself) and the value of keeping it.
You just gotta decide what you want. --> aka CHOICE.
Figure out how you want to get there. --> aka DIRECTION
Decide to take ONE action. ---> aka COMMITMENT
Rinse and Repeat. --> aka DISCIPLINE or CONSISTENT ACTION
That’s it.
It’s super simple.
And, I understand simple isn’t easy. Things can get in the way. Refuse to let them, because this effort applies to EVERYTHING in life.
~ Health.
~ Money.
~ Relationships.
~ Business.
And, when you go ABOVE and BEYOND... when the promises you keep to yourself and your commitment -- far, far, far exceed the ones broken -- you've added the secret sauce or power move that all real winners understand.
So what are you waiting for?
Get out there and take action today.
Shine your light brightly.
ACTION: The Upside Challenge for the week is to re-acquaint yourself with your 3 commitments for the year.
Choose ONE commitment that you are focused on this week. Each day, take ONE action that is in alignment with that commitment.
Work through the daily steps (choice, direction, commitment, discipline).
Keep up consistent action to go the extra mile-- for yourself and your mission.
Because the world needs you and your brilliance.
Now more than ever.
