Most people don't get what they want, because they aren't clear on what they want ... or they don't want to acknowledge what they really want.
When you were a kid there were probably times when you wanted something that you didn't get.
~ Maybe it was out of reach because your parents didn't have the money.
~ Or maybe it was because they didn't see the value in it.
~ Or maybe you didn't get it because you didn't have a certain skillset.
When you don't get what you want over time, you start pretending that you don't want anything.
It's easier to tell yourself that lie than to be disappointed or hurt when you don't get it.
Lack of clarity on what you want is often a protective measure to keep your heart from being disappointed or hurt.
Only when you hide your deepest desire for too long you lose sight of what it truly is because you lose sight of who you are.
That doesn't mean external success is elusive.
However, as you achieve goals and others see them as impressive you may feel underwhelmed, empty, and disappointed.
