Where there is light, there will always be shadows.
This was what one of my friends reminded me of today.
I choose to focus on the light ... and at times this has been dangerous.
He recently called me "stubbornly empathetic" ...
... unwilling to look at what is, focusing instead on what "should" be ...
... unwilling to look at the predators or evil in the world ...
... and those who consciously -- or unconsciously -- seek to create harm.
He's challenged me to figure out what it would look like ... for me to increase my awareness of the hidden motives of others.
I'm not sure what that version of Lisa would be as...
... it's not that I don't always see it ...
... rather it is that I don't want to see it.
He calls that arrogance ...
... refusing to learn the lesson God has tried to teach me more times than I care to admit.
Maybe.
And that's why God sends me people like him ...
... to remind me that we live with dogs...
... not wolves ...
... for a reason ...
It’s important to keep your eyes open and your awareness tuned in to reality, …
not just what you wish it would be.
And you need to be aware of the difference between light and dark forces and the behavior that shows which is which.
God gave you your senses and reason, and it's important to use the gifts you have been given --- to be alert to evil, to steer clear of harm if possible, and stay bright.
Be a Light -- and Stay bright.
The World Needs You and Your Brilliance.
ACTION: The Upside Challenge of the week is to see where you may have been too naive and have been harmed-- that harm coming through another person or situation.
Choose to see clearly so that you can care for yourself, treasuring your value and worth, and thereby honoring the good and true within yourself. Step away from harm.
Stand in the light that you are.
