The questions that I ask myself often have complex answers or no answers at all.
Questions like...
... why do bad things happen to good people???
... or, why did he/she do or say that?!?
... or how did I end up here again?!?
... each has its own pull on me. And yet, I do my best not to get caught up in the swirl of thinking how to answer the "unanswerable."
When I focus on living in the here and now – and taking action on what my priority is in the moment, I am less apt to fall prey to distractions like those questions. If I'm present and responding with aligned action, I am more on track with my commitment to my mission, purpose, and calling.
The result of this is ultimately being more at peace as I move throughout the world ...
Centeredness also shows up when I choose to do my best in each moment or the next right thing.
This mindfulness is how I can be still internally even when there is movement all around me... and how to be still IN SPITE OF the movement inside me.
The stillness is needed to move from reaction and participation in the chaos to conscious choice, allowing awareness and intentionality to emerge or take flight in every arena of my life.
One of my deepest desires… is that questions that have no real answers or involve complex dynamics can be posed without landing on a definitive answer.
It’s one of the gifts the farm has given me as I’ve found that on the land no answers are needed.
You can be in the questioning and experience the joy on the journey.
It’s from that place that peace triumphs.
And, the best leaders get this.
Do you?
ACTION: The Upside Challenge for the week is to choose peace and stillness in spite of chaos around you.
Choose to focus on the things that you have within your control and that matter to your daily work.
