One of the biggest decisions in life is figuring out when to HOLD ON and WHEN TO LET GO of something or someone.
Because I’m committed to IMPROVEMENT and taking INTENTIONAL, PURPOSE-LED action, My formula is designed with those commitments.
Each day I ask myself:
--> What?
--> How?
--> Who?
In answering these, I get more clear on how to improve. And, I take action with that clarity and purpose.
Rinse and Repeat.
~ WHAT commitments and situations get my time?
~☆~ So then, WHAT needs to be changed?
~ I examine HOW I use my time.
~☆~ HOW does what I’m doing need to be changed to get the results I want? How can I be more effective?
~ I examine who are the people with whom I’m investing my time. Are they participants in my journey, integral to getting me where I want to go? And who I want to grow into becoming?
~☆~ WHO has the expertise to guide me so I get the desired outcome I’m looking for? Who is impeding that progress or being a distraction?
In answering the "who questions" I look to understand if the "who" is - me ... or is it someone I'm connected to?
Lately, as we continue the remodeling process for the farmhouse, I’ve been looking at when to hold on to something and when to let go.
I want to keep the history intact and yet many things need to be changed, released, and updated.
Understanding what to keep the same and what to change
has been part of this journey.
Sometimes the questions I ask myself aren’t enough to provide me with all the information needed to make a good decision…which is why I have advisors to help me along the way to see what I can’t see.
With Summit Hills Farm it’s been…
~ A contractor.
~ An interior designer.
~ A plumber.
~ An electrician.
~ A woodworker.
~ A metal worker.
~ A handyman.
And more...
With my business Upside Thinking it’s been…
~ A business coach.
~ A financial mentor.
~ A spiritual advisor.
~ A chief of staff.
~ A digital marketing genius.
Sometimes you’re just TOO CLOSE to see what you need to keep and what you need to let go of on your journey.
it's vital that you don’t go making excuses for experiences and people who are no longer a fit.
When you try to make something work that’s not in your best and Highest good, you get stuck.
Some of the actions you’re taking right now can’t get you what you need and/or the people you’re spending time with just aren’t capable of going where you’re going.
ACTION: The Upside Challenge for the week is to check in with your What, How, and Who. What actions do you need to take in answer to those three questions?
Have the courage to change something or let go of someone.
What and who do you need?
Get as clear as you can...
Because the world needs you and your brilliance.
