Are You an Earth Mover?

Happy Memorial Day to my American friends!
I am sending heaps of love and gratitude out in honor of the men and women who have given up their life so we can enjoy freedom in the United States of America.
When I was flying out to San Jose two weeks ago, my taxi driver shared that he was from Ethiopia. I told him that I had been there and it was a beautiful country.
He and I had a lengthy discussion about the food and culture as I wanted to hear all about what he loved about his home country.
Then, I asked him why he moved to the United States of America and what he loved most about living here.
He said one word — “Freedom.”
Wow.
The words spilled out of his mouth with conviction as he revealed that the ability to speak his mind and do so without fear was something he treasured.
How often do you really think about your ability to be free in body, mind, and spirit — and price that the men and women of this country paid to grant you that right?
Liberty is a gift that many will not know in their lifetime. Let us celebrate the ability to be free, to live out our passion(s) and make a positive difference in the world.

“Give me a place to stand on and I will move the earth.” – Archimedes
Hey, I’m no slacker but those are some heavy words.“….I will MOVE the earth.” What a statement!
As I sit pondering what Archimedes means, I begin thinking about my life. What does it take to move the earth? Am I willing to do what it takes to move the earth?
To move the earth requires the commitment to have a clear vision and definiteness of purpose.
Accepting the challenge to create a vision tall enough, wide enough, and deep enough to physically move the earth means stepping out of what you believe is possible.
Time passes on whether you build a big vision with clearly delineated priorities or not.
ACTION ITEM: The Upside Challenge of the week is to answer the following questions:
What awe-inspiring, earth-shattering vision will you create for your personal and professional life today?
What one action will you take to immediately begin turning that vision into a reality?
Remember, the how is not your business. And, it’s not mine either.
You are where you choose to be. Choose Upside.
See Upside. Be Upside. Live Upside.
