When I was a kid, it seemed as if days were long, and it took forever to get to a holiday.
In my mid-20s, I remember sitting down with my grandmother and talking to her about how fast the day went. She shared that time moves quicker the older you get.
At that moment, I didn't understand it and thought it was an odd thing to say.
Now, standing here one month shy of 55 years on the planet, I finally get the wisdom my Grammy was offering me.
Time waits for no one.
She can't be borrowed, bought, or sold.
She just keeps moving forward without any concern about whether you're doing what you're called to do.
Most folks have regrets on their deathbed, or they fear time will run out on them.
What if you knew there was enough time to do what matters most to you?
Well, there is.
You have this moment.
Yet, when you're not clear about what matters most to you, and you're not ruthless about where to invest your precious minutes, hours, and days,
you'll likely end up somewhere you don’t want to be a few weeks, months, or years from now, let alone be happy when you put your head on the pillow tonight.
Ask yourself:
~ "Is this extra hour at work critical to what I want?
~ Is the trade-off one I want to make, and is it worth an hour away from connecting with my kids or partner?"
~ "Should I get organized and caught up on housework this weekend, rather than meeting up with a few friends to go hiking or just being present with those I love?"
~ "Is starting a business at this stage of my life more important than taking time off to create memories with my loved ones? Or can I do both?"
There are no right answers.
You get to define what success looks like for you, and that takes leadership.
Friends, career, family, travel, house projects, hobbies, business—when you say yes to one thing, you're saying no to something else.
Make every single yes count and get you closer to what you want.
Your life is a gift from God.
How you live it is your gift back to Him.
Remember, the world needs you and your brilliance now more than ever.
ACTION: The Upside Challenge for this week is to identify your top three areas of focus and track how you spend your time for the next 24 hours.
Use a notebook or your phone to log what you do every hour.
Be honest and detailed.
Review your time log and compare it to what you say you value.
Are you spending your time in ways that reflect what matters most to you?

Whether it’s spending more time with loved ones, focusing on a key project, or taking a break to recharge, make sure this action supports what truly matters to you.
Remember, every second is a choice—make each one count.
