Thousands of years ago in Greece, just like at the start of the Olympics today, each runner was given a torch.
Before the race began, each torch was lit.
The runners would take off understanding that the only way to win the race was to cross the finish line with their torch still lit.
If your fire went out, ...
... even if you finished first ...
... you were disqualified.
As the torchbearers ran, they knew they had to protect their flame and shield it from wind, rain, or anything that might snuff it out.
Throughout the race, they would check their torch to make sure their fire was still burning.
You have that same flame burning inside you ... and it's easy to have it disappear.
When you do work that isn't part of your Divine mission, purpose or calling ...
... your light gets dimmer.
When you hang out with people who don't value you ...
... your light fades.
When you experience a setback or disappointment ...
... you may forget who you are ...
... and allow your fire go out.
Over time, pushing yourself to the extreme equates to burn out.
Why do we call it that?
Because your inner light is no longer burning.
I've seen it a lot ...
... people who are going through life running on empty ...
... and their torch is no longer lit.
If you're feeling that right now let me remind you of the importance of reigniting your fire.
~ No one else has your unique set of gifts, abilities, talents and experiences.
~ No one else can make the difference on the planet you're called to make.
You are here for a reason and the people you are called to serve need you.
If you need a match, some wood or a little fuel to restart your fire -- and ensure that it burns bright and stays lit -- just reach out - as I've got plenty to share.
See, that's what my leadership coaching programs are all about ...
... so you shine a little brighter ...
... and the fire inside gets bigger ...
... and you take action - and create the impact that's yours to make.
And I'll also take a stand for what you may not be able to see.
ACTION: The Upside Challenge of the week is to examine if your flame is burning bright and true to you.
It you are running on empty and your light is dimming, hold the awareness with compassion and tenderness.
Tend to your fire by taking initiative.
Call a coach or confidente so you can re-ignite or re-fuel.
Take that one step.
Your light is unique and needed. It makes a difference.
The World Needs You and Your Brilliance.
Now more than ever.
Go shine your light.
