Leadership impact questions are ones that attract money and build wealth.
~ Who are you?
~ What do you want?
~ Why does it matter?
My three faves.
Yet when you are clear about what you want, it's easy to have your brain immediately jump to 'how do I get there?'.
Or worse yet, to have the answer to your 'what' question be defined by 'how' you will get it to happen.
When what you want feels like a big dream that's out of reach doubt can creep in and you can unconsciously let go of what you really want and settle for something less.
Or if you do claim the big dream when you start trekking up the mountain you can become so uber-focused and fail to see the resources at your disposal to make it easier like the ski lift beside you.
Been there, done that.
To fulfill your mission and move forward with a vision you've got to let go of the how and focus on the now.
Yes, let go of the how - and focus on the now.
What is the one thing you can do right now to get you one step closer to what you want?
When I wake up, I often ask the Holy Spirit,
~ ‘What is mine to do today?'
~ 'What is the one thing you want me to do that will get me closer to my vision?'
Then I focus on the one thing.
Sometimes it makes sense.
Other times it doesn't ... and it is revealed over time.
The biggest thing is for me to not get attached to the how - like how I'm gonna get there - and stay connected to the now - the present moment.
Every time I get lost in the how my mind races and I get overwhelmed with tasks and minutiae and it often leads to busy work or inaction.
Sigh.
When you want to create a meaningful and happy life filled with wealth and wisdom, sizeable income and impact, start with those three questions:
~ Who am I?
~ What do I want?
~ Why does it matter?
Then ask yourself... ... What is mine to do today?
Be open ... tune in ... and listen.
You may be surprised at what shows up when you do.
