Finding Peace in the Chaos
When I was in law enforcement, I had conversations with guys about how to stand strong when dealing with crappy people ....to not let the chaos around me take me out.
Yet sometimes the chaos is inside.
You’ve probably got countless voices in your head ... telling you what you “should” want for your life.
This time of year, they may be louder, having you play the comparison game, fighting to prove or questioning your worth.
You probably wear busy as a badge of honor.
I hear folks talk about their “hustle and grind” all the time.
Then there are those folks who’ve decided to opt out and forgot what a healthy work ethic looks like.
In today's world, teaching clients how to create unoccupied moments in their life can be a monumental task.
Thoughts of:
~ Do my kids like me?
~ Have I gotten fat?
~ What if I can’t pay my bills?
~ Did I do enough this year?
… challenge your peace when they run incessantly.
Giving yourself space without technology, without activity, and without noise to imagine, create and be changes how you move in your life and how much ease you have.
I get this struggle as busy was an obsession for me.
I was addicted to an overfull schedule and looked like I had it all together and was a hot mess inside.
I completely turned my life around by questioning where every second was being spent.
Now my head and heart have space unoccupied ... that allow me to breathe life into myself and those around me.
The farm has been the gift that keeps on giving.
Clients who come to this sacred space walk away better for it.
Just like on all of our properties.
Busyness is a disease where folks speak about their frenetic life and how much they accomplished more than any other topic.
Equating busy to productivity, power and status leaves you feeling like you’re never doing enough.
Be still … and know that I am God.
Not be busy and prove to me how good you are.
I’ve found peace in the chaos amidst the noise around me and that’s allowed me to stand strong ... and not get swallowed up by the chaos of the world.
That’s the power of the pause.
Try it.
Because The World Needs You And Your Brilliance.
ACTION: The Upside Challenge of the week is to examine the distractions in your life.
If you're feeling a frenetic energy from the start of a new year, determine if the chaos is external or internal.
Then, look at potential distractions that detract from your time, energy and money.
The best leaders get the importance of having a technology fast and choosing to be present which often requires spaciousness and slowing down.
