Where do you need to say “yes” more – and where you need to say “no” to make sure that the world does get the best of you?
Do you ever feel overworked and overwhelmed?
Is your calendar filled with endless demands that rush at you like a 3-year old who’s had way too much candy?
When the people in your life are clamoring for more of your time, do you ever feel guilty saying “yes” – and powerless to say “no?”
I get this because I’ve been there.
The 4th Pillar in my 7 Pillars of Leadership Success is to Live Your Priorities and I will spend quite a bit of time with this at my annual Design Your Destiny Live event in January.
The truth is, it’s hard to live in a state of disappointment.
Being disappointed for saying “yes” when I recognize I don’t have the time to do it well..
Being disappointed because I’m feeling stressed out so no one gets the best of me….
Being disappointed for saying “no” because I want you to like me….. This is something I’ve spent countless hours on with my clients.
It’s more than making adjustments to your calendar; it’s about recognizing that you need to change so that the world gets the best of who you are and your spirit and soul are at peace.
If you want your life to change, you have to change the way you think about the word “yes” and the word “no” and see them as choices to get you to where you want to go.
Action Item: Best of You - Lisa Marie Platske
The Upside Challenge of the week is to examine where you need to say “yes” more – and where you need to say “no.”
What do you need to do to ensure you are at peace regardless of which word you choose?
If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll only get what you’ve already got.
Life is change. Growth is optional. Choose wisely. Lead Upside.
The world needs you and your brilliance.
