I recently spent the weekend in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia with a room filled with transformational leaders.
This group of 100+ Evolutionary leaders seeks to touch the lives of 1.2 billion (yes, with a “b”) people on the planet by 2020.
Being in this room was mind blowing and while I am up to great things in the world, conversations like this do not happen every day.
The collective power of leaders coming together to effect massive change on the planet is awe-inspiring.
So, how about you?
What impact are you looking to make in the world?
For the past 7 years, I’ve hosted my annual Leadership Success Summit.
This year, I’m changing the name to Design Your Destiny LIVE as its about leveraging your time, effort and energy so that you position yourself as an expert and make a difference in the world.
When you become an influencer, opportunities come to you and you don’t have to do the heavy lifting to attract what you want.
This week I want to give you 3 reasons why elevating your expertise or positioning will enable you to maximize your efforts and generate bigger results.
Rock Star Status: Yes, when you are seen as an expert, you get seen as an authority – and sometimes even a celebrity. When I was in the room this past week and got to know each of the leaders better, there was an awe and wow-factor that was accompanied by audible gasps. This rock star status means that people will listen to YOU first. And, how cool is that!
An Elevated Know-Love-Trust Factor: When you are visible AND positioned well, you are seen as credible and don’t have to fight to prove yourself. If you own your own business, clients seek you out. If you work in a company, you become the go-to person for questions and problems. And, ultimately, the money will follow. You can ask many of my clients as they have reaped the rewards.
Expanded Sphere of Influence: Difference makers, change makers, and experts influence the world. Who you are and what you have to say will shape others and impact their world and the world of those they know.
ACTION ITEM: The Upside Challenge of the week is to examine who you are spending your time with. Are they people who challenge you? Bring out the best in you? Fill your bucket? What do you need to do to have an expanded sphere of influence?
Remember, people follow the person first and then their great plan.
Be someone worth following.
