I’m a strategist.
I love finding out what my clients want and helping them to get it.
By starting with the end in mind, together we map out the destination, chart the course, and plan the journey.
And, I often speak about 4 critical tenets to getting what you want.
No matter what your goal is, be it weight loss, business, finding your soul mate, or flying to the moon, the reason for failure usually lies in one of these areas.
Today, I want to look at the inability to take consistent action.
What is consistent action?
Ultimately, it’s the willingness to do something on a daily basis.
Yep. Every day.
Here’s a great example.
Imagine you had a healthy nutritious breakfast this morning – and went for a walk.
Did your choice of food and movement allow your body to be at a high energy level?
Of course!
What if you were to eat a healthy breakfast and go for a walk every morning?
The difference in your life would be significant.
(Right now, I’m working on making this lifestyle change by having a green smoothie and going to the gym to use the elliptical machine and do free weights every day. The difference in my health is INCREDIBLE.)
To achieve anything worthwhile, you must commit to taking consistent action.
If you want to write a book, you need to write daily.
If you want to grow your business, you need to work on it every day.
If you want to be a visible expert in your field, you need to take action daily.
This ability to take consistent action is what separates successful people from those that go in circles.
Doing something every day can be effortless and joyful especially if you discover your “why” it’s important in the process
CALL TO ACTION: The Upside Challenge this week is to look at the 4 tenets of Choice, Direction, Commitment, and Consistent Action. What have you chosen to move towards over the next year? Are you going in the right direction? Are you on course? Is your commitment still strong or do you need to do something to reenergize and reorganize? And, are you taking action daily – and is that action the right action to reach your destination?
People follow the person first, not their great plan.
If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.
Life is change. Growth is optional. Choose wisely. Lead Upside.
