In 1987, George Michael had a line in a hit song that was, “You Gotta Have Faith.”
And recently I’ve been thinking about the faith that it has taken me to grow my business.
Many of you know my story of being an “accidental entrepreneur”. I never had a dream of owning a business. I didn’t even take a business class in college.
But I had a faith that could move mountains, and even when it wavered I had the support of my brilliant husband and the best friends a girl could ask for to carry me through.
One of the exercises that I have many of my clients do is create a list of the Top 100 Qualities that make them wonderful and special.
I remind them that there will be days when they’re sitting at their desk and they just don’t know how to do that thing they need to do — that thing the world needs most – and the list will remind them of how much they have.
I know this is true for me when I read my own list.
Every day when I wake up, I give thanks for my abundant life and all that is on my list.
Consistent purposeful action coupled with my strong faith and a dose of courage has made all things possible for me.
The belief I have in myself and my work has been cultivated and nurtured over the years.
When you have faith in what you do and who you are and all that you know you are capable of, you can truly do anything!
ACTION: The Upside Challenge for this week is to examine if you are positioned to get what you want. Are you being overlooked and/or undervalued for your work? If so, you just might need to position yourself differently in order to be rewarded and recognized. What consistent purposeful actions you are taking? Are they getting you where you want to go? How about your faith and courage? Do you believe in what you want 100%? Are you unstoppable?
Life is change. Growth is optional. Choose wisely. Lead Upside.
