At the beginning of 2013, I proudly made the announcement — to no one other than myself — that this was going to be MY year and nothing could stop me.
Big changes, and new commitments.
You get the picture.
As I began to take action on my 2013 plan, I was in awe at the incredible changes, including a slimmer, sleeker, sexier me (I can finally see definition in my arms again), a peaceful calm, deeper friendships, and new clients. Ahhhh….
However, when I woke up this morning I knew it was time to quit.
Not on my action plan.
But to quit being critical of myself and how far I’ve come.
To quit beating myself up when I don’t get it right the first time.
To quit telling myself that I “should” be further along, by comparing myself to so and so and where they are on their journey.
I’ve found myself slipping into a pattern of celebrating everyone else’s brilliance, and criticizing where I am.
And, I’m feeling strong this morning that I need to model a different attitude and approach to my very special Upside life.
I quit.
And, I choose to forgive myself first, let go, and then make a change.
To forgive myself and let go without making the change is like setting a goal and never taking action to move it forward.
I want to live a life filled with joy, peace, goodness, love, and light — all that is Upside.
So, each time I criticize myself I’m going to see it as a personal challenge to shout out words of encouragement.
I will focus on what I have, and who I am.
For example, “I am an influencer! I am grateful for my incredibly abundant, super-connected, glorious life.”
Awareness is the first step for change to be set into motion.
I quit.
How about you?
Are you up for quitting some old habit, negative attitude, or tendency that may not be serving you to live out the best version of who you were called to be?
I encourage you to decide what you will let go of starting right now.
And, I’d love to hear from you.
Remember, life is change. Growth is optional. Choose wisely. Live Upside.
p.s. Join me on June 18th (less than 10 spots left!) for my Make It Happen daywhere you can work on creating new habits, and accomplishing “more in eight hours than the past eight months” as one of the past attendees shared.
