To see or not to see, that is the question.
Choosing to embrace everything with an attitude of gratitude has been one of my life-long challenges.
When I believe everything happens for me, not to me, and in Divine Right Timing, it’s easier to see the blessing not the stressing.
Yet, I don’t always see from the lens of every experience benefitting me in some way.
(Perhaps that’s funny for a girl who named her leadership development company Upside Thinking, Inc.)
Here’s the thing — I want to believe that, and when I’m not in the middle of a crisis, I do believe that.
It’s just been a struggle for me to live that when I’m in the midst of the storm.
Trusting the good and the growth will be revealed in time has taken a lifetime to cultivate.
This is the journey of the courageous leader.
No matter what you are facing, you choose to inhale possibility, giving thanks for the opportunity to grow.
Whatever you are facing, you understand that it’s for a reason so you give thanks.
When I did this during one of the darkest seasons in my professional life, I began to change – and so did my business.
Now, I look back at all of the heartache and disappointment with immense gratitude.
I can’t go back to where I was even if I wanted to do so.
I am better for the lessons and opportunity to grow.
It’s this attitude of gratitude that can change a company, a culture, and a planet.
What do you see?
Remember energy flows to where your attention goes.
Action: The Upside Thought of the week is to reflect on a time in your past that was very difficult.
Now that you can look back with 20-20 hindsight, see all the good that came from that time and experience.
Now, take a moment to be grateful for what you have and where you are today – including the challenges.
Trust the hardship will have its blessings, even if you can’t quite see them now.
The world needs you and your brilliance.
