Five years ago, I changed the name of my annual event from the Leadership Success Summit to Design Your Destiny Live.
While the content was similar, the feel of the event shifted as did who showed up in the room.
Every so often, someone who attended one of the earlier events will ask me why I took that leap of faith especially when the event is still about leadership and being a leader worth following.
I share the idea of “summiting as a leader” often paints the picture of being a solo endeavor, whereas being a destiny designer represents taking a stand for something, and choosing to be a force for good on the planet. The latter felt and feels, critical.
After all –
If not you, then who?
If not now, then when?
Choosing to advocate for what you believe in as you design your own destiny means you create an intentional life.
You set out to blaze your trail and stand for something – and stand up for something.
This could be part of your daily work or how you show up in your family.
The bottom line is people get behind where your heart lies.
What do you take a stand for?
Healing?
Clean water for all?
Forgiveness?
Creative expression?
Vulnerability?
Inclusivity?
Truth?
Justice?
Simplicity?
Freedom?
The journey of blazing a trail to change the world means you’re choosing to take action on something that others may be interested in and have been waiting for someone else to step up and lead the way.
Action:
The Upside Challenge of the week is to examine for yourself what it means to design your destiny and be a leader.
Where are you called and willing blaze a trail?
Here’s a hint: your heart is involved! Get clear on why. Then, notice the energy it gives you – and take the 1st step.
The world needs you and your brilliance.
