How you can get rid of any feelings that are keeping you from being grateful and prosperous
There is a sign on my wall in my office that reads, “Gratitude: To be present in the appreciation of life’s abundance and to share that light with others.”
Research shows that being grateful has both physiological and emotional benefits, yet you may be wondering how you can be grateful when you’re not living your dream life…
…if you’re not exactly where you want to be in your personal and professional life.
My question is often, “How can I NOT be grateful for all I have in my life?!?”
I often talk about how to get from where you are to where you want to be in terms of it being a move from your comfort zone to the not-so comfortable zone.
This gap between where you are and where you want to be may feel possible, or it may feel enormous.
It may feel effortless, or too taxing to plan for the journey.
The gap between where you are now and what you want may be strewn with challenges that you’re ready to take on or may you want to hide out as they seem unsurmountable.
Regardless of where you are on your prosperity journey, I recognize you are called to a life of greatness – and the world needs you and your brilliance – or you wouldn’t be in this community.
The how is not your business… Prosperity - Upside Thinking
…because if you focus on the gap and how you’re going to bridge it, you may feel dissatisfied with everything you’re currently doing.
Small wins can be a fabulous starting place as the journey of 1000 miles starts with a single step – and then another and another.
If you look around, I bet you would see evidence you’re moving forward, growing and evolving.
Yet, it isn’t the wins I’m most grateful for, rather who I am in this moment as who I am is who I need to be to bridge the gap.
When I focus only on where I’m going I get stuck worrying about what a long way I have to go.
Yet, when I pay attention to where I’ve come from, I’m in awe.
You’ve already accomplished a lot in your life.
There are people who look at your life with awe and wonder of how you’ve done as much as you have.
So, be grateful for where you are – and mostly be grateful for who you are to have gotten this far as gratitude is critical to creating prosperity.
Get rid of the feeling that there is something in you that’s not good enough or worthy of success by stepping into your future vision and recognizing you are deserving and ready for all that you’ve been envisioning.
This doesn’t mean you haven’t tasted failure or lack.
It doesn’t mean the journey has always been easy.
It’s about acknowledging how far you’ve come and trusting that the next step will be revealed because of who you are, not only what you’ve done.
Be grateful for this moment.
Be grateful for the gap between where you are and where you want to be.
Be grateful for the opportunity to design your destiny.
I’m grateful for who you are.
I’m grateful for all you’ve accomplished.
I’m grateful for the times you got it right – and the times you didn’t.
I’m grateful you’re part of the Upside family.
And, I’m grateful for your willingness to step into the not-so comfortable zone – and design your destiny.
Three cheers to you designing your destiny and creating an incredibly prosperous life.
Action:
The Upside Challenge of the week is to be grateful for the gift of your life – and take one action to outwardly express your gratitude.
The world needs you and your brilliance.
Comfort doesn’t change the world.
Vulnerability changes everything.
