Have you ever wanted to do something but weren’t sure of the first step to take?
First steps can be scary and uncomfortable.
Doing something new can evoke all kinds of insecurities, doubts and questions.
What if other people don’t believe in me?
What if I fail?
I’ve asked these questions.
And, so have all of my clients.
One of the characteristics that all successful people possess is the willingness to ask for support.
No one ever goes it alone.
You need help and so do I.
I’ve hired coaches to help me with my business, special projects, book writing, and my health and well-being.
Most recently, I realized I needed an extra push in getting me back to the gym – and back on track with my health commitment.
So, I made an investment in me.
When we put off getting the help we need, the people who need us suffer.
Now, you may think that sounds harsh but it’s true.
If you don’t show up as the best version of yourself and allow something to get in the way of your brilliance, the people who rely on you miss out – sometimes for weeks, sometimes for months, sometimes for years and sometimes for decades.
I used to look at other people and think, “It comes so easy for them. What’s wrong with me?”
The answer is nothing.
And, if you’re wondering the same thing, the answer is the same for you.
You need support to grow.
The question is – are you brave enough to take the first step?!?
ACTION ITEM: The Upside Challenge is think about the areas on your life where you need support – and ask for it. Get a mentor. Hire a coach. Invest in you.
Instead of looking at what others are doing, focus on your own journey.
The journey of 1000 miles starts with a single step.
Life is change. Growth is optional. Choose wisely. Lead Upside.
