I’ve been hanging new art work at my home in Alexandria, Virginia and thinking about Fall cleaning.
It’s the perfect opportunity to decide what you really want to keep and let go of.
Clearing the clutter is all about creating new space for the right opportunities to show up in your life.
And, I’m all about perfect possibilities!
So, let’s look at two areas in your life right now.
Let’s start with your physical space.
How do you feel when you walk into your office?
Is the environment welcoming, comfortable, and clutter-free?
Or, is it chaotic and stressful when you sit down to work, making it difficult to get things done?
Now, let’s look at your mind space.
Are your thoughts welcoming, relaxing, and supportive?
Or, are there stories of overwhelm running through your head partnered by a scarcity mindset that chatters about not having enough over and over again in a constant loop?
Well, it’s time to get out dustpan and broom and clear the clutter, and get rid of the cobwebs.
Every year, I make a list of what I’m willing to let go of. And, while it’s not always the easiest thing to do, I always feel so much better.
CALL TO ACTION: The Upside Challenge this week is block out 3 hours to clear the clutter and organize your physical space. Your goal is to do more than tidy things up but to clean out your drawers (you know, that desk drawer that has “miscellaneous” in it…) and get rid of the items that are weighing you down. I know you’ve been avoiding this forever but it will only take a few hours and you’ll feel lighter. Then, take 60 minutes to clear out the thoughts that aren’t serving you. Make a list of all that you’re grateful for at this moment.
Being a leader of leaders means you’re intentional with your time.
Even if you only take me up on part of the Upside Challenge, it will change your life.
What will you commit to today? What are you cleaning up in your life?
Life is change. Growth is optional. Choose wisely. Lead Upside.
