Thomas Edison said, “When a man makes up his mind to solve any problem he may at first meet with opposition; but if he holds on and keeps on searching, he will be sure to find some sort of solution. The trouble with most people is that they quit before they start.”
I couldn’t agree more with Edison (which was the name of my first dog).
Focused attention means moving towards the accomplishment of your goals with laser-like concentration.
From the smallest task to your personal mission in life, you achieve your desired outcomes by focusing on exactly what you want, and taking action.
With your many varied responsibilities and long “to-do” list, it’s understandable how life can become overwhelming.
And, sometimes a single task may seem monumental given all that you have on your plate.
Over time, you can become stagnant, and stop growing without even realizing that you have chosen this path.
When I start to become overwhelmed, I pause and ask myself what is the one action that I can take that will make a difference.
Then, I commit to taking the action, and do it.
Immediately, I ask myself, what would the next action be?
This may not be a big revelation for you, however, it delivers results while demonstrating the power of three C’s – Choice. Commitment. Discipline. – to accomplish everything your heart desires.
You are in control of your CHOICES in life and you can change directions in a matter of moments.
As you ask yourself the questions, and walk through this process, you are making the COMMITMENT to move forward.
Whether you are honoring your new health commitment, cultivating new business relationships, or claiming your visibility, with consistent DISCIPLINE you will see the end result sooner than you realize.
Remember, all of your limitations are self-imposed. There are individuals who have experienced great hardships and disappointment who have changed the world.
Whatever you want, choice, commitment, and discipline will get you there.
What will you make the choice to start today?
